Stories about art and life and the magic in between
How this blog came about or: “Once upon a time…”
… There was a girl that never got to dress up as a princess or fairy when she was little. When she grew up she moved to a land far, far away, and had a family of her own. One day, when she watched her son dress up as a very scary character for an odd tradition called Halloween, she realized that she herself wanted to seize the opportunity and dress up, too: as a fairy! So she went and bought a set of wings and a magic wand (she never imagined that it would be that easy to turn into a fairy, without spell and anything). On one side she felt very silly to do something like this because in her world adults are supposed to be serious in order to be taken seriously. On the other side she had a blast walking around with her wings and magic wand. She felt magnificent and light and couldn’t help but put a big grin on her face. She couldn’t believe that something simple like this could have such an uplifting effect on her. It felt as if she had found something that she thought had been lost. And it occurred to her that maybe, it hadn’t been lost, but never been claimed! Maybe it was completely up to her, to put on some fairy wings, take up the magic wand and transform everything that seemed dull and grey into something spectacular, vibrant and colorful. There even was the slight chance that things weren’t dull and grey at all, but that it took a certain change in perspective, the magical fairy dust, to see the true nature of everything.
